This Long Alcometer is a glass instrument sometimes called a spirit hydrometer, this instrument gives a direct reading of alcohol in a simple distilled spirit. It only works in a simple mixture of alcohol and water alone, if other ingredients have been added, the Alcometer will not give an accurate reading.
